The aim of Lyme Regis Majorettes troupe is to promote an interest in baton twirling, dance, choreography and fitness. To also develop team work, loyalty, commitment, respect, self confidence and most of all enjoyment for everyone.

The committee’s prime concern is with each individual majorette’s wellbeing and the committee will endeavour to promote a safe, fun environment in which they can grow physically, emotionally and mentally. Part of this commitment means that the committee complies with the Child Protection Act 1999 and also with our own Child Safeguarding Policy. Several of our committee members are also trained in first aid.

Our Founders

Lyme Regis Majorettes was founded in 1982 by members of the London Inn Wanderers social club. The club thought Lyme Regis should have its own majorette troupe and so they approached Jill Chase to train the troupe which consisted of 15 members. The Wanderers donated money to purchase material for the uniforms which were made by Mrs Flux. These uniforms were Royal Blue and White.

Over the years many girls have been part of the troupe with some today still taking part as committee members and trainers.  Today the troupe is the largest youth organisation in Lyme Regis with over 55 members.
